Seeing myself as a designer and a prospective educator with a curious and involved attitude towards the world around me.

Fascinated by the human body and it’s movements and motives. Why do people do the things they do?

I like to respond to this by tackling social problems. For example, lending a hand to human posture in evolution with my project ‘Orthoses for the future’.

Or by tackling my own pitfalls as a maker by designing a personalized and wearable methodology named ‘It all appeared to be linked’.

ANTI-SMARTPHONE
PINKY RING

Continuation on Orthoses for the Future

Jewellery Design, 925 Silver, 2023

Technology's Increasing Role in Our Lives
People are using technology more and more. It's becoming an integral part of our lives that we can't ignore. Soon, it will be so ingrained in our bodies that we won't be able to escape it. These rings are designed for contemporary individuals and aim to prevent future issues like a bent smartphone finger.

Journey into Jewellery Design
During my time at Studio Sieraad, Sint Lucas Antwerp, I began exploring the world of jewellery design. Here, I learned various goldsmithing techniques. Armed with this newfound knowledge, I revisited one of my projects: Orthesis for the Future.

Anti-Smartphone Pinky Rings
I've created three different styles of anti-smartphone pinky rings. Each of these rings prompts the viewer to question: is it simply a fashion statement, or does it carry a deeper meaning? With the intention to spark conversations and raise awareness about how our constant attachment to smartphones is gradually molding us to fit their demands, something society cannot afford to ignore.
